Mindful Magazine

The current Mindful Magazine includes an excerpt from my book, When Antidepressants Aren’t Enough: Harnessing the Power of Mindfulness to Alleviate Depression. The article describes how mindfulness can help change your relationship to depressive thoughts and feelings. One of the most important elements is having the ability to “decenter” from depressive thoughts and feelings. For example, this means viewing thoughts as thoughts and not accepting them as actual facts. When you have a negative thought, like “I’ll never be successful”, that’s a thought, not a fact. You can tell this because when you’re not feeling depressed, your belief in that thought diminishes dramatically. Here’s the link with more information:
